Proxypreview.org is committed to user privacy. Our Privacy Policy is intended to ensure that your personal information is handled in a safe and responsible manner. This Policy addresses:

  • what personally identifiable information is collected from you through the proxypreview.org;

  • how this information is used and with whom it may be shared;

  • what choices are available to you regarding the use of your data;

  • the security procedures in place to protect against the misuse of your information; and

  • how you can correct any inaccuracies in the information.

Where applicable, we have entered into General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliant Data Protection Addendums with third-parties who process data on our behalf.

Information Collection, Use and Sharing

As You Sow, Proxy Impact and Sustainable Investments Institute are the owners of the information collected on the proxypreview.org website. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We do not use third-party advertisement networks, or other networks that follow you across the web. As you browse our websites, we use analytics services to ensure you're finding the content you're looking for, but we do not correlate this information to individual users.

When you share your name, address or e-mail address with us, by joining our mailing list or downloading a report or making a donation to Proxy Preview, As You Sow, Proxy Impact and/or Sustainable Investments Institute we may use this information to send you information about our activities, webinar invitations, and other information. You may customize your e-mail preferences to receive only certain types of e-mail.

Your Access to and Control Over Information

We respect e-mail opt-outs. You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time.  If you unsubscribe from our e-mail service, we cannot re-enable your account. If you would like to re-join our e-mail list, please use our contact form.

You can do the following at any time by contacting us via the email address or phone number provided below and on the Proxy Preview website (Proxypreview.org):

  • see what data we have about you, if any;

  • change/correct any data we have about you;

  • have us delete any data we have about you;

  • express any concern you have about our use of your data.

Proxy Preview uses Google Analytics to determine efficacy of our content placement. We do not use the software to track individual users. If you would like to opt-out of Google Analytics tracking, please use this browser add-on.

Security

We take precautions to protect your information.  When you submit sensitive information via the proxypreview.org website, your information is protected both online and offline. We encrypt your connection to our websites and to our donation processor over HTTPS. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the web page.

While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

We process our e-mails through Pardot, which we share with our Salesforce database. For information on Salesforce and Pardot, see Salesforce's e-mail privacy policy. 

Donations to Proxy Preview are handled by Click and Pledge on their servers. All donation information is secured over SSL (secure socket layer).  For specific information on Click and Pledge, see their privacy policy.

Social Networks

As You Sow, Proxy Impact and Sustainable Investments Institute regularly shares content through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. We do not correlate website data and social network data, and do not host social network widgets on our site. As You Sow, Proxy Impact and Sustainable Investments Institute are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of such other sites.  If you choose to interact with As You Sow, Proxy Impact and Sustainable Investments Institute over these platforms, you may share personal data with these services and with us. Please see the privacy policies for these companies if you would like more information.

Surveys

On occasion, we may ask our site visitors to participate in voluntary surveys about our work. Survey information will be used for purposes of research in our issues areas, or to improve our services. If you participate in our surveys, you agree to share non-personally identifying information with us through our survey utility, SurveyGizmo.  SurveyGizmo’s privacy policy is detailed here.
